Biography

Dr Michael Boffa

Professor Michael Boffa MD, MSc, FRCP is Visiting Professor at the University of South Wales, UK. He graduated in Medicine from the University of Malta in 1986 and trained in Dermatology in Malta, London and Manchester. He has been a Consultant Dermatologist since 1996, initially in Bradford, UK and, since 1997, in Malta in public and private practice. He is Chairman of the Department of Dermatology, Mater Dei Hospital, Malta, Senior Lecturer in Dermatology at the University of Malta and Past President (and current Vice-President) of the Maltese Association of Dermatology and Venereology.

He is an elected member of the Malta Medical Council and the Founder President of the Malta Eczema Society. He was Board Director representing Malta in the EADV (2009 - 2015) and Chairman of the EADV Honours & Awards Committee (2015 - 2019). His interests in dermatology include all aspects of clinical dermatology, systemic therapies for psoriasis and cutaneous oncology and he has coauthored European guidelines on vulval dermatoses, lichen sclerosus, scabies and molluscum contagiosum. He is married to Véronique and has 3 children.
