Biography
Conrad W. Wanyama
Conrad W. Wanyama is a Tutor on the PGDip in Medical Education at the University of South Wales. His clinical training is in international paediatric nursing and paediatric acute care, and he holds an MSc in Medical Education from the University of South Wales. He is currently a DPhil scholarship awardee at the University of Oxford, a post he holds until 2027, and is affiliated with the Kenya Medical Research Institute/Wellcome Trust Programme and the Health Systems Collaborative at the Centre for Tropical Medicine & Global Health, University of Oxford. He also holds an honorary tutor post in medical education and paediatric nursing at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Since 2012, he has served as lead medical educator for a continuing professional development course developed for clinical instructors in East Africa. His research and educational interests include simulation teaching, the use of media and generative AI in medical education and as clinical decision support tools, and non-technical skills in educational and clinical settings, particularly the communication of feedback and the use of standard tools in patient care. He brings this combination of clinical background, international teaching experience, and research interest in medical education pedagogy to his role on the programme.
