Dr Prakash Kumar Nayak

Dr Prakash Kumar Nayak is a Tutor on the PGDip and MSc in Physiology at the University of South Wales. He holds an MD in Physiology from MKCG Medical College & Hospital and a Fellowship in Diabetes from Christian Medical College, Vellore. He is currently Professor and Head of the Department of Physiology at IMS & SUM Hospital, Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University, India, a position he has held since January 2024, having previously served as Professor in Physiology at the same institution. His academic career spans over a decade, including roles as Associate Professor in Physiology at Bhima Bhoi Medical College & Hospital and Assistant Professor at Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, where his responsibilities included teaching, curriculum development, and research supervision for MBBS and BDS students. He has completed training through the Curriculum Implementation Support Program and Medical Education Training, both delivered by the Medical Council of India, and is a past member of the Academy of Medical Educators, UK. His teaching and research interests include diabetes and related endocrine disorders, and respiratory physiology. This combination of clinical specialisation and sustained academic leadership in physiology underpins his contribution to the programme.
