Throughout his studies, Dr. Tsarkov found the academic quality, programme flexibility, and student support to be exceptional.

“The academic quality, flexibility, and exceptional student support made every stage of my learning journey intellectually rich and professionally rewarding.”

He credits his MSc in Medical Education with helping him sharpen his research and critical appraisal skills - directly contributing to his success in the MRCPsych exams.

“During the MSc, I deepened my knowledge in medical education and research methodology, which directly helped me pass the Critical Review section of MRCPsych Paper B with a score of 79% on the first attempt!”

This academic foundation also played a pivotal role in his selection for the African Mental Health Research Initiative (AMARI) - a prestigious PhD in Psychiatry scholarship funded by the Wellcome Trust and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office under the DELTAS Africa programme.

“Being selected for AMARI was a career-defining milestone, and I credit Learna and USW for playing a vital part in that success.”

Dr. Tsarkov also expresses gratitude for the guidance he received from his academic mentors:

“I am especially grateful to Dr. Joshua Smith, my Research Methodologies and Critical Appraisal tutor, and Professor Danny Clegg, my dissertation supervisor. Their mentorship made a world of difference.”

Now a psychiatrist, lecturer, and CBT therapist, Dr. Tsarkov stands as a proud ambassador of Learna and USW.

“This has been one of the best academic decisions I have made. If given the chance to join Learna’s faculty, I would be honored.”
