Upon completion of the course the University would invite you to a graduation ceremony and provide your certificate which makes no reference to the fact that the course was studied online and it is therefore recognised the same as any other UK University qualification. However, as each Medical Council has their own rules/regulations with regard to Postgraduate study we recommend that you contact your local Medical Council with regard to recognition.

You are able to undertake two Postgraduate Diplomas at the same time, however, there are strict rules/regulations that need to be adhered to. Please contact our Admissions Team at admissions@learna.ac.uk for further information.

Yes, you are able to apply for a 2 year MSc.

Due to the intensity of the course, we recommend you spend approximately 2 hours per day on your studies. If you were not able to study during the week, you would find it difficult to catch up on the work missed during that week.

Yes, if you are a two year MSc student, you are able to take a break between the first and second year by applying to the University. However, unless there are extenuating circumstances, you cannot take a break midway through a year.

Yes, as you hold a medical degree you are able to apply for the courses we offer.

If you are a University of South Wales student, you are entitled to a student card. However, you will need to contact our Student Support team about obtaining one.

Unfortunately, if you are a University of Gibraltar student, you won’t be given a student card. However, we can provide a letter of confirmation that you are enrolled, should you require proof for any reason.

No, we offer interest free payment plans for all of our courses to help you spread the cost.

Proof of English is a requirement for all our courses. We can accept an IELTS overall score of 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 for each band). We are able to accept alternatives to IELTS depending on which country you attended secondary school. Please contact the Admissions Team at admissions@learna.ac.uk for further guidance.

We have a dedicated Student Services team who will be there to support you throughout your time studying with us should you be experiencing any difficulties your student services officer should be your first point of contact. In addition, our expert course tutors will be there to provide academic support should there be any issues with the academic elements of each module.

If you would like to apply for a course, you can either navigate via the courses dropdown on our homepage to your prospective course and select “Apply Now” on the right-hand side. Alternatively, send an email directly to admissions@learna.ac.uk stating which course you’d like to study and any queries you may have. A member of our Admissions team will be in touch as soon as possible to start your application.

Providing you have passed the Postgraduate Diploma, simply let our applications team know that you would like to continue onto the MSc.

When you study one of our programmes you may be surprised to find that there are no lectures or seminars. Your learning will be self-directed meaning that rather than being told information you find it for yourself (with tutor guidance and support). We do this via a series of clinically rich scenarios which your tutor will post on our academic forum which you and your classmates will research, respond to and discuss.

You will be assessed through the Academic Forum, Reflective Journal and Assignments. Learning will be carried out using our online learning platform: Moodle.

You can study whenever and wherever you want - our programmes are totally flexible to fit around your other work and life commitments.

The material is designed to be highly clinically relevant and is designed to help develop postgraduate study. In that context, it will help in preparation for training/membership exams but these exams are multiple choice and based on clinical and academic skills.

This varies from student to student. Most of our postgraduate students have jobs, families and social lives which they juggle to complete the course.

Typically, we suggest that you aim to log in to the course website daily. High achieving students will typically spend 1-2 hours dedicated to their studies a day. You should expect to spend a minimum of 10-15 hours on the course each week.

Applicants who wish to log in once/twice a week should not do this course, it is important to remember that you are undertaking a postgraduate course and as such, you can expect to work to achieve this valuable qualification.

In order to be eligible for the course you need clinical experience within the field that you wish to study. The course is designed to further your knowledge within the topics covered and will not introduce these as new topic areas.

There are tutor-stimulated academic discussions which are based on clinically rich case scenarios.

No, unfortunately, if you have signed up for two years, you will receive your certificate at graduation at the end of your second year.

No, in order to be eligible for the healthcare courses we ask that you hold a medical degree or undergraduate degree in a health related science and are working within the field that you wish to study.

Yes, everything is done entirely online through our learning platform, Moodle. You do not need to attend the University.

No, there is no upper age limit.

No, this is a formal University qualification. The course is designed to assist when competing for training or consultants posts.

Postgraduate Diploma courses
In order to be eligible for our Postgraduate Diploma courses you need to hold a medical degree or undergraduate degree in a health related science and be working within the field that you wish to study, as the course is designed to further your knowledge within your chosen subject and is not designed to introduce these as new topic areas.

Course fees start at £3,900.00. Payment plans are available, however, we do not offer funding.

If you complete the Postgraduate Diploma you are able to write PgDip followed by the course name, for example, PgDip in Diabetes. If you have completed the Masters of Science you are able to write MSc followed by the course name, for example, MSc in Diabetes.

This is an online timed multiple choice exam based on the topics you would have covered during the module, you have 1 hour in which to complete this.

During the exam, if you are unable to answer a question you are able to progress onto the next question.

We have high pass rates for all our courses, however, in the event that you do fail, we offer one free resit, any further resits are charged per module.

The certificate will state your name, the course that you have completed and your grade. The certificate will make no reference to the fact that the course was studied online.

You will receive your student number and enrolment instructions 2 weeks before the course begins.

You will receive your login details for the online learning platform, Moodle, a week prior to your course starting.

Our tutors are hand selected and experience rigorous screening processes.

Our in-house recruitment team initially make contact with tutors who match strict criteria, their CV's are then sent through to our Course Directors to ensure they meet their high academic standards and have the extensive clinical experience that we require.

We then send all potential tutors CV's and recognised teaching status forms to the university for review, where they are screened by our Course Lead, who ensures the tutors have the relevant teaching experience and are experts in the field - to qualify them to teach on our Postgraduate Diplomas.

The reference can be from a work colleague, employer or former tutor and they will need to be able to state how long they have known you and in what capacity.

The MSc is a natural progression for students who have completed the Postgraduate Diploma and wish to continue with their studies and therefore, in order to be eligible for the 1 year MSc you need to have completed the Postgraduate Diploma in the respected subject either with the University of South Wales or an alternative UK based University having gained 120 level 7 credits, you need to have met all of the learning outcomes of our course and also covered each of the topics covered during our course.

If you have not completed the Postgraduate Diploma, you are able to apply for the 2 year MSc where you would complete the Postgraduate Diploma for the first year and MSc for the second year.

Both the Postgraduate Diploma and MSc are online, part-time and last for 1 calendar year each.

No, however, studying a course will lead to improved knowledge in the course subject, including up-to-date and emerging areas of research. Successful completion of the course may be considered favourably by prospective employers and training bodies.

Yes, you will be a student of the university that your course is awarded by. If you are a University of South Wales or a University of Buckingham student, you will be given a student number.

Once you have enrolled onto your course you will have access to the awarding University’s resources, including the library.

Yes, certificates are either physically given to you at your graduation or posted to you if you are unable to attend.

The course is designed to further your knowledge within your chosen subject and would assist when competing for positions within the UK, however, in order to work in the UK you would need to hold GMC registration.

Yes, as you hold a medical degree you are able to apply for the courses that we offer. If you are not currently working within the area that you wish to study you are able to use your previous clinical experience during the course.
